Akkawi Cheese

Akkawi is an Arabic Cheese and is a white brined cheese that is native to Palestine. It is mostly made from cow’s milk but can be made from goat or sheep’s milk. It has been produced on large scale in the Middle East, mostly Lebanon, Syria and Cyprus. Now, due to a shortage of cow's milk in Palestine, it is now being made by Reha Milk Ltd. Co. Akkawi is produced in small squares and packed in tins.

This cheese has a mild and salty. It is a great cheesiest and alone or paired with fresh fruit. Also Akkawi is a perfect choice for the sweets especially Kunafeh.
